The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is in full swing this week, running from yesterday through Thursday evening. Given the party's outspoken stance on key issues, nothing at this convention should come as a surprise. The Democrats have made their beliefs crystal clear, and this week will likely reinforce their positions.
In their pursuit of power, the DNC has sold its soul to the devil by aligning itself with progressive social policies, particularly in areas related to reproductive topics. Specifically abortion “rights” as they call it. Yesterday marked the first day of the DNC convention and they are proudly, which is expected, “offering free vasectomies, medication abortions, and emergency contraceptives to attendees through its mobile health bus.”1 From a Christian worldview, particularly one grounded in the teachings of Scripture, these policies are a slap in the face of the Bible.
The Sanctity of Life and God's Created Order
At the heart of the Christian faith is the belief in the sanctity of human life. The Bible teaches that life is sacred because it is God-given. Genesis 1:27 states, "So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them." This passage underlines that human beings are made in the image of God, and therefore, life from conception to natural death is to be protected and valued.
The DNC's support for abortion directly contradicts this fundamental truth. Abortion is the taking of innocent life, which is murder —a life that God has purposefully created. Psalm 139:13-16 beautifully illustrates this, where David reflects on God’s intimate involvement in the creation of life within the womb: "For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb... Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them." Abortion disregards this divine act of creation and the inherent value of the unborn child.
Marriage and Procreation as Central to God's Design
God’s design for humanity includes marriage between a man and a woman and the natural result of that union, which is procreation. Genesis 1:28 commands, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it." This mandate reflects God’s intention for human beings to engage in marital relationships that are open to the gift of children. The promotion of contraceptive methods like IUDs and permanent procedures like vasectomies as "solutions" to avoid children undermines this divine command. These solutions are targeted at those engaging in sexual activity outside the boundaries of the marriage covenant, indulging in relationships with whomever they please. This behavior clearly violates God's law, and the DNC consistently opposes biblical commands at every opportunity.
From a Christian perspective, these initiatives represent a broader cultural trend that devalues the family as ordained by God. In this context, the DNC’s advocacy for such measures is seen as part of a larger agenda to redefine family structures and diminish the role of procreation within marriage. Quite frankly, the Democrats seem intent on dismantling the traditional nuclear family.
The Importance of Upholding God’s Standards
The push that provides easy access to vasectomies, IUDs, and abortions at a convention reflects a worldview that prioritizes individual autonomy over divine authority. This approach challenges the Christian understanding that our bodies and lives are not our own but belong to God (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). In contrast to the cultural message of autonomy, Christians are called to uphold God’s standards, which includes valuing life, respecting the purposes of marriage, and embracing the blessings of children.
Romans 12:2 calls believers not to be conformed to this world but to be transformed by the renewal of their minds, discerning what is the will of God—what is good, acceptable, and perfect. The Christian response to the DNC's policies should be rooted in Scripture, advocating for a return to God’s design for life, marriage, and family. This involves not only opposing policies that contravene biblical principles but also actively promoting a culture of life that honors God’s creation and His plan for human flourishing.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the DNC's promotion of free vasectomy appointments, inflatable IUDs2, and abortion is in direct opposition to the created order that God has established. Christians are called to speak truth in love, advocating for the sanctity of life, the importance of marriage, and the blessing of children. While the cultural tide may be shifting, the truth of God’s Word remains constant, calling believers to stand firm in their convictions and to witness to the world the beauty of God’s design for humanity.
I won't follow up on every topic discussed at the DNC, as their agenda continually contradicts Christian values. Unless an issue is incredibly pressing, I'll continue focusing my attention on the Gospel according to Matthew, as I have been posting the last few weeks. However, I do believe it's relevant to oppose such absurdities when they arise.
